These include, among others:
I am delighted to be here, to tell you a little about myself, to listen to your concerns and of course to ask for your vote in District 6.
I was raised on Redfern Avenue, went to school at St. Paul's, learned to skate in Westmount Park and read at the Children's Library. My budding career as a downhill skier came to an abrupt end in a haystack at the foot of Murry Hill.
Westmount is my home.
I love my community..
My parents came here in 1949 from a war torn Europe, settled in Westmount and were made welcome.
I raised my family here, manage my business and have worked on elections and referenda along with many of you here tonight.
Today we face new challenges and I would like to give back to the community that has given me so much .
What do I bring to the task?
Time, presence and expertise.
An expertise in advocacy, gained fighting for language rights and access to services.
A broad and eclectic network at all 3 levels of government and in the private sector.
A financial background. I manage a business, deal with budgets, sit on Boards of Directors, oversee pension funds and do cost control on a daily basis.
A knowledge of apartment buildings, of tenants , of plumbing that leaks, and costs that soar...
A love of community, and concern for those less fortunate than others.
As for the issues before us, I support our Mayor in his determined opposition to a mega city. We are fortunate to have his leadership and I pledge to do my utmost to help him and Council to address our concerns .
Westmount is a community of volunteers. It's residents can be found on the Boards of Directors and Governors of most of our Health and Social Service Institutions., including the McGill Universty Hospital .
Should it be decided to build the new hospital in the Turcot Yards, then I pledge to use my expertise in construction and development to help manage the process. With planning ,sensetivity, and intelligent co-operation we can minimize the impact on the community.
This weekend I took part in the reunion of St. Paul's and St. Leon's schools. Hundreds of prople came back for the occasion. They came from far, from New Zealand , from Mexico, from the four corners of Canada and from the United states.
They came home to Westmount, they came with love, they came for fun, but most of all, they came for community.
There is a spirit of Westmount, it IS within our control, it cannot be legislated away , it can and it must be cherrished.
I pledge to do my utmost to nourish that spirit and keep it alive.
Ladies and Gentelmen, thank you for your attention. Your presence here tonight is proof of the vitality of our community. Let us go forward together to embrace the new century with history behind us, opportunity before us and determination to keep Westmount on the map.
If elected, I promise to work hard on your behalf. I ask for your vote and thank you in advance for your support.

From an October Speach
Good evening ladies and gentlemen. Bonsoirs mes dames et mesieurs.
Health and Social Services.
Culture and community
We have excellent facilities in Westmount, we have talented residents, we have young families with ideas and enthusiasm and older residents with energy and expertise. We have institions, and we have history. In a word, we have community.

' The Hon. Lucienne Robillard called away '
COUCHICHING
This year's Couchiching conference, of which Wednesday Night's Margaret Lefebvre was Programme Chair, has ended very successfully. Although Health was the theme, the conference focused on the factors improving health rather than how to deal with illness. Costing Canadians about 9 % of GDP, health care in the present context is looked upon as an expense, but not considered are the offsetting savings involved in overcoming the human and material costs of such conditions as obesity, diabetes, hypercholesteremia and hypertension. The presence and active participation at Couchiching of the health care decision makers in the federal as well as the provincial governments augers well for a new more productive approach to human health maintenance in Canada.
