Peter F. Trent "Peter personifies personal intellectual integrity above all," said David Nicholson. "I remember him saying, through all the tough times in the '95 referendum and the amalgamation debate, 'revenge is not an option.' I think that says a lot about his character." Westmount's unconventional guitar-playing ex-mayor makes a popular choice for the first member of the ongoing Order. A one-time chemist and inventor of a widely used building material, the British-born Trent was a driving force behind the Westmount Library expansion project and President of the Conference of Montreal Suburban Mayors and Vice-Chairman, Administration and Finance, of the Montreal Urban Community.
